June 2020

Since the beginning of the lockdown we have been working with similar groups and the local authority in feeding 40 homeless and rough sleepers who have been placed in temporary accommodation in a city centre hotel.

In the hotel they are provided breakfast but there is a rota to provide hot evening meals and sandwiches for lunch the next day.....we are currently doing Friday and Saturday.

In addition to the hotel we have been in Trinity Square Thursday, Friday, Saturday plus Sunday lunch feeding those who have not been found temporary accommodation plus the few who don't wish to move.

In addition we have provided care packages containing toiletries and other essential goods. We have increased our food parcels to the most vulnerable and deprived where we can and thank everyone who has made it possible.

What Next

As people are moved from the hotel into more permanent accommodation they are replaced by someone off the street.

From June 18th 2020 as we understand it the funding will cease for the hotels and we are expecting a considerable increase in numbers due to many different reasons.

We will continue to help feeding as many homeless and providing care packages where possible.  It has been an emotional roller coaster but there is a long way to go, we really need your help and ideas to enable us to keep moving forward.
